About Zillah Patrick
Art has been part of Zillah's life since she left school.
She trained at Harrogate Art School and the London Institute of Education after which she taught arts and crafts at all levels.
As a mature student she has studied for a National Diploma in Fine Art, a course that has added to her knowledge and experience of an even broader range of techniques and introduced her to the computer world with its potential use in creativity.
Colour, pattern and texture found in nature or man-made have been inspirational.
"Art comes into my life in everything; gardening, cooking, decorating and even choosing clothes. I have potted, done 3D embroidery and now I paint a variety of subjects in many different media. I think life should be varied and exciting which I hope is evident in my work. There is so much to explore and get a thrill out of. I enjoy what I do and would wish others to enjoy it too."
Her work of the moment is colourful and vibrant, often semi-abstract but this does not negate much drawing and sketching in a more representational way.
